We recently attended the HFMA Annual Conference, which took place from June 24 –27 at the Venetian-Palazzo Sands Expo Convention Center in Las Vegas. Every year, the conference brings together executives from the healthcare sector, with the aim to lead and inspire their businesses – helping them solve complex issues by interacting with peers and industry leaders, and providing them with the right tools to influence change and address different challenges. This year’s conference was no different. The event provided some great networking and collaboration opportunities to those in attendance, while offering some key industry updates and insights on upcoming trends.

We recently exhibited at this year’s CFMA Annual Conference & Exhibition, which took place from June 23 - June 27, at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, a beautiful venue, on the beach in Miami. Packed with classes and workshops for the attendees, the conference provided valuable educational opportunities—these included general sessions, mini-conferences, breakout sessions, advanced sessions, and dawn peer groups. The five-day conference schedule was organized to allowed attendees to view the exhibition area on three of the conference days, and specific hours set for attending classes and workshops.
I’ve been in the fleet management business for around 20 years, having worked my way up from rentals to sales. Right now the states in my region are: Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Wyoming. I’ve been in this region throughout most of my career, and it’s a huge plus that they are all well-connected to Texas where I’m based. The biggest industry footprints in this region are oil and gas, energy, construction, manufacturing, and healthcare. Each of these sectors presents both opportunities and challenges for our customers, who run fleets of vehicles for their employees.
The National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA) conference took place last week (April 18-20) at the beautiful Estancia La Jolla Hotel in California, and it was such a great opportunity to meet and network with professionals from all walks of the industry. A little unique and different from past conferences I’ve attended, there were no Fleet Managers present at the event, but more auto manufacturer representatives, small leasing companies, as well as banks, other lending institutions, insurance companies, and upfit and equipment companies.

A couple of weeks ago we talked all about the pros and cons of diesel fuel options; regular, renewable and biodiesel. Renewable gas is an alternative fuel option that works much like regular gasoline, but is sustainable, often cleaner, and, essentially, in infinite supply. This week, we want to address the “green” options for gasoline and answer some of the questions you may have floating around in your mind. Questions such as: “What are the different options? How do I choose which is best for my fleet? Can I blend a new option in or will I have a scheduling nightmare on my hands trying to switch over?”
